Li River
The Li River is the connecting river between Guilin and Yangshuo and is one of the main tourist is attractions of the area. A thousand years ago a poet wrote pf the scenery around Yangshuo, ‘The river forms a green gauze belt, the mountains are like blue jade hairpins’. Well, the 83km stretch between the towns is hardly that, but you do see some extraordinary peaks, sprays of bamboo lining the riverbanks, fishers in small boats and picturesque villages. As is the Chinese habit, every feature along the route has been named. |
